Our Ericka Winterrowd will be playing Mercy Lewis in Theatre Banshee’s current production of Arthur Miller’s classic drama, The Crucible.
The conniving, hypocrisy and horror of the Salem witch trials comes to the Banshee as we present one of the 20th Century's greatest American dramas: Arthur Miller's The Crucible.
Something's afoot in the Puritan village of Salem as young girls fall under a strange affliction. As traditional remedies fail, thoughts turn to diabolic influences and soon the girls decry neighbors as suspected witches. The panic spreads and the decent Proctor family falls under the ruthless gaze of their community's increasing paranoia. Will the Salem come to its senses or will the innocent hang accused of witchcraft? Playwright Arthur Miller turns an unflinching eye to a dark chapter (or two) in our nation's history.
The Crucible opens March 26 and runs through May 15, Fridays at 8, Saturdays at 8 and Sundays at 2pm at The Banshee.

Check out our Blake Robbins as Cop Eric in this trailer for his upcoming film, Rubber, which opens April 1st. In the LA area, it’ll be playing at the Nuart Theater.
Rubber is the story of Robert, an inanimate tire that has been abandoned in the desert but suddenly and inexplicably comes to life. As Robert roams the bleak landscape, he discovers that he possesses terrifying telepathic powers that give him the ability to destroy anything he wishes without having to move. At first content to prey on small desert creatures and various discarded objects, his attention soon turns to humans, especially a beautiful and mysterious woman who crosses his path. Leaving a swath of destruction across the desert landscape, Robert becomes a chaotic force to be reckoned with, and truly a movie villain for the ages. Written and directed by legendary electro musician Quentin Dupieux, aka Mr. Oizo, Rubber is a smart, funny and wholly original tribute to the cinematic concept of “no reason.” Photographed in English in the California desert, utilizing a Canon digital camera, the film was selected for the Critic’s Week at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival. Original music by the filmmaker and Gaspard Augé. Official Web Site
